Has the possibility of adding a “Monthly” option, in addition to the current “Daily” option, under “Type of Period” in the WDQMS Transition Monitoring tool, been considered?

a monthly view could be added, but we should be clear about the requirement.
The transition monitoring currently has a daily view, because the daily view is more "responsive" than a monthly aggregation. It shows changes almost immediately, allowing to know when a change happened.
For a monthly aggregation we would have to define how stations should be displayed, for example if they were in GTS only for some days and then in WIS2 and GTS for some other days. The result could be confusing to some users.
What would be you use-case for for a monthly aggregation?

thank you for the detailed explanation — it makes sense.
My use-case was mainly reporting: a monthly view in the transition monitoring would make it much easier to prepare our monthly reports, since manually downloading the data each time is quite time-consuming.
That said, having thought about it a bit more, I take your point about monthly aggregation potentially being confusing (e.g. stations that were in GTS only for some days and then in both WIS2 and GTS for others). Rather than complicate the tool, I'll write a small script that pulls the daily data and generates the monthly report automatically. That should solve my problem without losing the responsiveness of the daily view.
